In this interview Francesca Sandrini, Medical Service Consultant, describes herself and her personal experiences that affect her working life.
Describe yourself with a personal and/or professional experience that you consider representative of your personality.
When I was in Perth (Western Australia) for the first trip by myself, I got lost while coming home after the first English school day. The housemate who should have waited for me outside school to take me back home had never showed up and I did not have the address and phone number of the family who was hosting me.
After walking for several hours along similar streets that all seemed the same to me, the sky started to get darker. I rang in a house and asked for help: Paul and his wife accepted to help me, driving around the neighborhood until me to recognize from the outside the place I was staying.
This experience is the perfect rapresentation of my personality: I trust the people and strongly believe even the worst situation can turn into a good memory.
Which is your role in JSB and why are you proud to be part of the JSB Solutions Team?
The JSB team is looking forward to the future: we work on projects that build the Medicine of tomorrow. My role is supporting the client in providing a stem cells drug product made in Italy and administered from selected hospital centers throughout Europe. We help patients suffering from a rare disease that affects their eyes to improve their sight. My daily routine is made of planning surgeries, communicating with the hospital centers, collaborating with the production facility.
Suggest a book to read and justify the choice with a representative adjective.
“Curarsi nel futuro. Come staminali e terapia genica stanno cambiando la medicina” by Valentina Fossati and Angela Simone. A short reading to help you understand those terms everybody is talking about: stem cells and tissue engineering, CAR-T and gene therapy. A representative adjective for this book? I use a noun: Innovation!
